Chapter 216: Naruto meeting Naruto

A while later, Yuna found herself in a vast underground room with a wry smile on her face.

“Well, that was unexpected.”

[Do you know what happened, Yuna?]

“Mhh, not really. Considering the space-time fluctuation I felt before that light engulfed us, we probably traveled not only through space but time as well. How weird, although I can still feel the [Flying Thunder God Seal] I have on Hinata and Naruto, I can’t teleport to them right now. Is it because we are in a different timeline, or is it simply because the connection got scrambled when we were transported? I hope it is the second case since the first one would make it rather annoying to find those two.”

While Yuna was contemplating the current situation, the ceiling above her exploded, and a person fell through it, quickly followed by a bunch of puppets.

“Ohh? It seems like I have already found Naru…to? Or not? That person feels similar, but there is no way Naruto’s chakra control would be this sloppy.”

A short moment later, the person crashed into the ground, before hastily stranding up to defend himself from the rain of kunai that was being shot at him by the puppets.

Seeing the Naruto-look-alike barely being capable of defending himself against four puppets, Yuna shook her head and vanished from where she stood.

A moment later, she appeared between the four puppets and with a casual wave of her hand, turned all four of them into ice statues, causing the Naruto-look-alike to look at her in bewilderment.

As soon as Yuna landed in front of him, he pointed the sword he was holding at her.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?”

Instead of answering, however, Yuna mustered the young man in front of her with interest, causing him to take a step back subconsciously.

“You, look and feel a lot like my younger brother Naruto.”

The moment he heard Yuna’s words, his eyes widened in surprise, and he lowered his weapon, causing Yuna to raise her eyebrow in doubt.

‘Isn’t he a little bit too naïve? Why did he lower his guards instantly.’

“Eh, my name is also Naruto, you know.”

‘Seriously, that is why he lowered his guard so quickly? And that verbal tick… I can’t be, right?’

Yuna sharpened her sense and took a closer look at the person in front of her and moments later, she opened her eyes in surprise.

[Took you long enough to notice.]

Yuna, however, completely ignored Kurama’s words and looked at the person in front of her with curiosity in her eyes.

“Hoo? You even have the Kyuubi sealed inside you; how interesting.”

Hearing Yuna’s words, the young man immediately took some distance from her and retook his combat-ready stance.

Yuna, on the other hand, didn’t even notice him move and pondered about the current situation instead.

‘He doesn’t just look and feel like Naruto. He IS Naruto. It’s a different version from the Naruto, I know. Is it the one Hisoka told me about? That would be a rather interesting coincidence, but considering how he moves and acts, it might be possible. Sloppy chakra control, sloppy taijutsu, hasn’t used a single ninjutsu yet, sealed Kurama and, of course, the verbal tick.’

While Yuna was deep in thought, someone appeared behind her and held a kunai to her back.

“Don’t move. Why are you here, and what do you want from Naruto?”

“Kakashi-sensei!”

After noticing the presence behind her, the kunai that pricked her back, and hearing Naruto’s yell, Yuna stopped her contemplations and chuckled a little.

“Now, now, Naruto, you shouldn’t reveal the identity of your allies so casually. For a shinobi, every piece of information is precious.”

Hearing Yuna’s words, Naruto immediately felt a little awkward. He didn’t even know whether the woman in front of him was an enemy or an ally, but now she suddenly started scolding him.

“Although I agree with your words, you still haven’t told me who you are.”

“Now that’s just rude, Kakashi. Although we haven’t seen each other for a while, to think you would have forgotten all those things you did to me. You really can’t remember how you tried to penetrate my butt after our first meeting? Or how you pierced my stomach with your huge thing a few months later?”

Even Kakashi couldn’t help but be slightly rattled when he heard Yuna’s words, while the look Naruto was giving him certainly wasn’t helping either.

Despite that, he still managed to substitute himself in time before a wind-coated fist could smash into his face. He reappeared next to Naruto, and moments later, his eye widened when the rock he substituted himself with wasn’t simply destroyed but shredded to dust.

‘That is some scary attack. If that had hit me, I’d be done for.’

After seeing the newcomer land next to her, a smirk appeared on Yuna’s face.

“Yo, Naruto. It seems like you made it through. Not sure what you were doing up until now, but I found a rather interesting duo.”

“Nothing much, nee-san. After the teleportation, I appeared between dozens of those puppets, and it took me a while to get rid of all of them. As for those two… Huh? Kakashi-sensei? And the other one is…me?!”

(F* it. I’m getting an aneurism writing this: the Naruto from the original canon shall henceforth be known as |Naruto|)

Seeing the perplexed look on Naruto’s face, Yuna couldn’t help but chuckle while Kakashi and |Naruto| looked at Naruto, completely dumbfounded.

While |Naruto| had no idea what to make of the person looking almost exactly like him, Kakashi’s mind was working in overdrive.

‘He looks like a combination of |Naruto| and Minato-sensei. He mentioned teleportation just now. Are these two in the same situation as us? More importantly, both of them seem to know me and |Naruto| and this other Naruto even said that |Naruto| was him. Now that I see those two standing next to each other, it reminds me of how Minato-sensei and Kushina looked together. Although I heard theories about it, is something like that really possible?’

“A different timeline?”

Hearing Kakashi’s words, Yuna nodded in approval.

“Haha, as expected of you, Kakashi, I came to the same conclusion.”

Hearing Yuna and Kakashi’s words, Naruto’s eyes widened in surprise.

“So it is like that. Since I analyzed dad’s sealing method, I know that he sealed the Ley Line by fixing time and space around it with his kunai as an anchor point. That means that we were transported to the date and location when the Ley Line was first sealed. Additionally, there must have been an additional interference due to the seal shattering instead of being removed normally, which resulted in us being sent to a completely different timeline in addition to being sent back in time.”

When Naruto finished his explanation, Yuna only nodded her head in agreement with Naruto’s theory, while Kakashi and |Naruto| had a slightly different reaction.

When Kakashi heard such a well-structured and complex analysis of the current situation from someone who looked and sounded almost exactly like the |Naruto| he knew, his jaw hit the ground so hard that it almost tunneled down to the center of the planet.

‘H-He might look like |Naruto|, but he certainly is an entirely different person. Even if I ignore that ridiculous analysis I just heard, many things about him are different compared to the |Naruto| I know. First of all, that sneak attack on me was not something |Naruto| could ever pull off. It was subtle and deadly, two words that don’t fit |Naruto| at all. Actually, it’s his whole presence that feels different. His entire body oozes confidence while there are no openings at all. He is composed and calm, and despite all of that, I can still feel quite a bit of |Naruto’s| open mind and exuberant personality in him.’

While Kakashi was busy puzzling together as much information as he could about the person in front of him, |Naruto|, after hearing the explanation of the current situation from Naruto, had smoke coming out of his ears, while he was dazedly staring at nothing.

His brain overheated after trying to attempt to understand Naruto’s explanation.
