Chapter 299: Another Enem…Nope, Probably not.
Suna’s Anbu commander, Handa Norio, was currently having a horrible feeling. The Kazegake went drinking with two other Kage, which strictly speaking should be a good thing for the village, but the problem was the addition of another person in that group: Yuna Uzumaki.
She was a bringer of chaos, not destruction, chaos. Handa did not doubt that the Kyuubi’s Jinchuuriki could bring incredible destruction to her surroundings, but that was something she rarely did. No, she sowed chaos for her own personal entertainment. Luckily, her little brother wasn’t here as well, or Handa might have actually died from stress after seeing these two walk into Suna side-by-side.
As the Anbu commander, there were many chances to interact or observe Gaara, so he had seen the change Gaara went through after meeting Naruto. Surprisingly, it was a positive one.
But, as if she wasn’t satisfied with what her brother did, Yuna swept in a few years later and changed Gaara’s personality again. Handa wasn’t even sure how to judge Gaara’s new character. On one side, he seemed to be as indifferent as ever or maybe even more so, but on the other side, he is willing to get drunk with other people. Yuna had yet again caused chaos by making Gaara more unpredictable.
So, Handa wanted to make sure that he watched the departing group like a hawk no matter how much time they spent drinking, but Yuna had a different idea. Or at least he thought that it was Yuna who did it. The twelve Anbu, including himself, that were following the group were knocked out…simultaneously.
Frankly, Handa found that terrifying beyond reason, but there was nothing he could do about that for now. What was even more terrifying was that his whole squad woke up at the same time, indicating that some kind of seal was used…probably.
However, that was far from the end of his plight. A short while after waking up, he got the news that one of Suna’s bars was inaccessible throughout the night and had collapsed in the early morning. He didn’t need to be a genius to guess the reason.
So, his squad went there, and seconds before arriving, they saw the current Hokage climbing out of the remains of the bar. After a short questioning, Handa was pointed somewhere where he honestly didn’t want to go. Towards Yuna Uzumaki.
Her whereabouts were relatively easy to find since she didn’t bother hiding her identity when paying for her hotel room.
This was either a huge mistake due to her drunken stupor, a sign of absolute confidence, or a trap. Handa prayed with every fiber of his body that it wasn’t the third option. He had already enough Anbu who flinched every time they walked past a confectionery and would rather not increase that number any further.
When he reached Yuna’s hotel room, one of his men peaked through the window, and Handa sighed in relief when he didn’t immediately get a cake into his face and was even happier when his man could open the window without any issues.
‘The window isn’t booby-trapped? Maybe she really was too drunk to prepare anything. This is my chance to kill her… Stop thinking nonsense, Handa. You want to interrogate her. Besides, if you would do that, it would probably turn into another war… should I do it anyway? Considering how much trouble she must have caused by now, I bet Hokage-sama wouldn’t mind getting rid of her either. Nonono, I still have to find Kazegame-sama’s whereabouts.
However, when Handa peaked through another window to confirm what was inside the room, his eyebrow twitched in irritation.
‘I should kill her.’
Three people were in a deep sleep. Yuna had a loose smile on her face while two people were happily pressing their breasts into her.
“Damn, I’m so jeal… *cought* I mean: Damn, the current Mizukage being here as well makes the situation much more complicated. Go in, surround them, and then question Yuna while making it clear that Mizukage-same may leave whenever she wants to go.”
“GO!”
Multiple Suna Anbu burst through the opened windows, and the moment their feet touched the ground, the true nightmare began.
*Splat*x12
The moment they landed, everything turned black, and all of them were hit by a cake, while Handa immediately shouted his following command.
“IT’S A TRAP!!! RETREAT!!!”
However, no matter how loud he yelled, nothing happened. If someone were to look at him from an outside perspective, it would look like he was only opening and closing his mouth, without a single sound coming out. Absolute silence.
When he realized that not a single person from his squad was answering his command, he gritted his teeth, turned around, and did a powerful jump to what he thought would be the way out, but…
*Splat*
Before he could move more than a meter, he was hit by a cake that stopped his movement instantly. Fast movement: Forbidden.
Next, he weaved through multiple hand signs and slammed his hand on the ground.
“[Earth Style: Earth Pillar Jutsu]”
However, no matter how often he tried it and what kind of jutsu he used, nothing happened. Use of chakra: impossible.
Finally, he closed his eyes and tried to sense his surroundings. Although he was not a sensor, he could at least perceive everything around him in a radius of a few meters when he concentrated on it…He couldn’t sense anything no matter how hard he tried. Perception: Completly blocked.
So, Handa gritted his teeth and chose the only option he had left; he lifted up his hands and started slowly walking in what he perceived to be a straight line until he found something he could use to determine his position. Unfortunately for him, no matter how much he walked, that never happened.
*Splat*
He was already despairing due to his current situation, but it seems that Yuna still wasn’t satisfied with his current situation, so moments later, a cake hit his face.
Handa was trapped in total darkness, couldn’t hear any sound, couldn’t use any jutsu, couldn’t do any fast movement, and was periodically hit by a cake.
So, he did the only thing a man like him could do in this kind of situation; he persisted in walking with his hands stretched out while a trail of tears slowly flowed down his face behind his mask.
‘I swear, the moment I get out of this, I’m going to retire.’
An unknown amount of time later, the darkness vanished, and Handa saw the face of his worst enemy in front of him: Yuna Uzumaki.
‘I WILL DEFINITELY KILL YOU, YUNA UZUMAKI!!!’
Although he wanted to yell those thoughts out loud, he didn’t dare to do so. Instead, he pretended like his mind wasn’t about to break and asked Yuna a question with as much authority as he could muster.
“Greetings, Yuna-sama. Could you, if possible, and if it isn’t an inconvenience, tell me where our Kazegake-sama is right now?”
Handa nodded his head in satisfaction.
‘Yup, nailed it.’
