Chapter 286: Yup, Definitely Another Enemy for Life
“So, even if Yuna wasn’t the one who used the [Edo Tensei], that still doesn’t explain why you are here now, grandmother. Although I don’t know much about it, I don’t think being away from the Pure Land would be pleasant to you.”
Mito nodded in agreement to confirm Tsunade’s theory and started explaining more about her current condition to her.
“Indeed, it really feels somewhat uncomfortable, but for some reason, it isn’t as bad as it was when I was summoned, so staying for a while won’t be a problem.”
The moment Mito finished speaking, Tsunade’s gaze immediately zeroed in on Yuna. It was rather obvious that Tsunade thought that Yuna had something to do with Mito’s condition.
However, when Yuna saw the suspicion in Tsunade’s gaze, she casually waved it away.
“No need to look at me like that. I have nothing to do with Mito feeling more comfortable. Well, okay, that isn’t entirely true. I HAVE something to do with it, but not in the way you think I do.”
Now, even Mito was looking at her suspiciously. As far as Mito knew, it should be impossible to permanently keep a soul away from the Pure Land, no matter the method. If Yuna really had managed to alleviate the pull, it would be an incredible feat.
“What did you do, Yuna?”
When she noticed another pair of suspicion-filled eyes on her, Yuna couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
“It really isn’t what you think it is. The reason why Mito currently feels more comfortable is due to me reestablishing the Uzumukai clan.”
While Tsunade tilted her head in confusion when she heard Yuna’s claim, Mito started pondering her words, and after a short moment, understanding flashed through her eyes.
“Regret?”
Yuna nodded her head in acknowledgment and started explaining the situation to the still confused Tsunade.
“Correct. It’s not that I somehow reduced the influence the Pure Land has over souls, but Mito’s will to resist it simply became stronger after she heard that the Uzumaki clan was back. Regret has a powerful influence on souls. Even if she married into a different family and took on another last name, Mito Senju is still an Uzumaki. She felt deep regret over the destruction of the Uzumaki clan, which was alleviated after knowing that it is currently being rebuilt. That is why it is easier for her to stay here.”
Tsunade and Mito both nodded their heads in understanding when Yuna finished her explanation. Although neither of them knew where that knowledge was coming from, it all sounded reasonable, so they decided not to question it.
“I see that makes sense. I guess you wanted to see how the Uzumaki clan is doing before returning to the Pure Land. Do you already know how long you want…can stay, grandmother?”
Mito pondered Tsunade’s question before she shook her head in denial.
“As long as I possibly can without anything dangerous happening to me. I’m honestly not sure how long that would be. One Month? One Year? I have no idea.”
“I would guess about a year. Thirteen months if you want to push yourself to an unreasonable degree, which I don’t recommend.”
Yet again, four suspicion-filled eyes landed on Yuna.
“How in the world do you know that so precisely?”
Yuna couldn’t help but laugh a little when she heard Mito’s question and lifted up her two hands to show her palms to Tsunade and Mito.
“I calculated it with my fingers.”
Tsunade and Mito looked at Yuna’s hands in confusion before an annoyed scowl appeared on their faces.
“Whatever, it’s not like it matters how you know about it or whether what you said is correct or not. I will just stay here for as long as possible and leave when I can no longer endure it.”
“Hehe, sure. Do you want me to prepare a residence for those twelve months, or will you be living with Tsunade?”
Tsunade almost let out an undignified sound that definitely would have angered Mito when Yuna asked Mito whether she wanted to live with her or not.
Although Tsunade was certainly happy that she could spend some more time with her grandmother, that didn’t mean she wanted to live in the same house as her. Wouldn’t Tsunade be restricted entirely for the whole year if Mito were to do so?
Yet again, she could hear Yuna snickering at her despite her currently facing Mito, resulting in Tsunade gritting her teeth hard enough to almost shatter them. Tsunade really wanted to outright reject the offer Yuna just made her grandmother, but how could she possibly do that?
To Tsunade’s relief, Mito shook her head when she heard Yuna’s offer.
“Tsunade if a grown woman. I don’t want to intervene too much into her life.”
For a split-second, Tsunade wanted to say something along the lines of “Too bad, I really wanted to live together with you” to score some bonus point with Mito, but luckily she realized that Yuna was in the room before doing so.
If, after almost two years of the “Yuna experience”, she still walked into such an obvious hole, she really would have no one to blame but herself if Yuna used it to mess with her.
Since everything that should be discussed was discussed, Yuna stood up and decided to depart for now.
“Well, I think that was everything for now. I guess you two still have a lot to discuss, so take your time.”
Tsunade and Mito nodded their heads in agreement and saw Yuna off, but just when she was about to exit the door, she turned her head around and smirked at Tsunade.
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot about it. The Uzumaki clan has developed a new seal that allows short-range mental communication. I’m sure Konoha’s will be somewhat interested in that, but let’s discuss the detail later.”
At first, she had no idea why Yuna suddenly brought that up, but moments later, she realized what was happening, and her face twisted in anger. When she understood that Yuna really was messing with her the whole time, she could hear her speaking yet again, but this time it wasn’t simple laughter.
‘Hehe, good stuff, right?’
“YOU…”
*SPLAT* x2
The moment Tsunade wanted to attack, Yuna vanished, and two cakes hit Tsunade and Mito’s face.
While Tsunade was seething with anger, Mito couldn’t help but chuckle in amusement.
“Does she always do that?”
Steam was about to come out of Tsunade’s ears, but she still answered Mito’s question with gritted teeth.
“YES!”
Mito nodded her head in approval and resumed speaking with an amused smile on her face.
“Well, that can’t be easy to do, but I guess with her monstrous skill level, it is possible. Even I didn’t notice her sneaking in those seals until she activated them.”
The moment Mito stopped speaking, Tsunade froze up entirely as her face twisted in terror.
“D-Did you just say seals? As in, there are seals installed into this room? Like, RIGHT NOW?! SEALS THAT YUNA CAN USE TO PRANK PEOPLE ARE INSTALLED IN MY F*ING LIVING ROOM!?”
Although Mito disapproved of Tsunade’s cursing, she still chuckled in amusement when Tsunade finished her rant.
“Yup~ Although I only got a short glimpse, there were quite a lot of them.”
Tsunade’s whole face started to contort in anger, and Mito’s comment that there were a lot of seals certainly didn’t slow down the process either, so moments later, she let loose an earth-shaking roar filled with anger.
“I WILL DEFINITELY KILL YOU, YUNA UZUMAKI!!!”
