Chapter 167: Meeting in the Snowstorm

*Author Note*

hikari_izuki is going on a rampage. Here is another one.

*End of Author Note*

Yuna was walking through the snowstorm with leisurely steps and a calm smile on her face. With every step she took, she could feel her surroundings getting colder, but instead of shivering from the cold, she enjoyed the cold air touching her skin. Every breath she took flooded her lungs with freezing air, but the more the temperature decreased, the more comfortable she felt.

She looked around and inspected the rampaging snowstorm around her and couldn’t help but chuckle.

‘I wonder when was the last time since I became this angry? It certainly wasn’t in this lifetime. A thousand years ago? Ten-thousand? Or maybe even longer? I guess the last time was when I found that Demon Sect that cultivated by sacrificing children. Even a few thousand years after I paid them a visit, people still talked about how I leveled that whole place. Well, considering the whole planet stayed frozen for that long, it shouldn’t be a surprise that people were talking about it for that long. That sure was an enjoyable massacre~’

Another chuckle escaped her mouth as she reached the middle of the snowstorm and sat down cross-legged. Yet again she observed her surroundings and moments later, she made a decision.

‘No matter how I look at it, this place is too precious to simply remove. I might not get anything from it, since I am the one who created it, but Haku might actually benefit from spending some time in it. A snowstorm that has my intent imbued into it is quite the rare resource, after all. Guess this is a good time to start teaching Haku and Ino cultivation, anyway. As far as I can tell, they are trustworthy.’

Yuna closed her eyes and started meditating, but just a few minutes later, an annoyed sigh escaped her mouth.

“Can you stop stalking me already? Come out.”

However, even after waiting for a few minutes, nothing happened, which caused Yuna to roll her eyes.

“This whole snowstorm is my domain. I could feel you peeking at me the moment you entered it, but decided to ignore you since you seemed to be some kind of observer of this world without any hostility against me. You probably can’t directly appear in the outside world, but that shouldn’t be a problem in my domain. This is my realm and I make the rules. Well, to some degree at least.”

Yet again, Yuna’s words were followed by silence, but a short while later, Yuna could feel that something was trying to manifest itself in front of her. She made the rampaging snow evade that place and moments later, a man appeared out of nowhere.

He had pale skin, and wrinkles all over his face. His most striking feature were two purple eyes that had black concentric circles covering the whole eyeball and a third eye on his forehead that had the same pattern but was red instead of purple.

Although most shinobi consider him to be simply a character from ancient tales, since Yuna had befriended Kurama and had talked with him about all kinds of things, she naturally knew that the person actually existed.

“The legendary Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Nice to meetcha.”

“Indeed, it is I, the one who is known as Hagoromo, the creator of peace, law, and order.”

Yuna could feel a headache coming from the way Hagoromo was talking, but moments later, she gathered her resolve and answered him in a similar way.

“This venerable one is known as Yuna Uzumaki, the Goddess of Ice… perversion, bribery, degeneracy in general… and a few more things. Oh! And cakes! I am currently aiming for cakes as well! Can’t forget that one.”

Yuna nodded at herself at that introduction. She almost managed a full sentence without slipping into her usual pattern, which she deemed a success.

“…”

Hagoromo was, naturally, completely stunned by Yuna’s seemingly random introduction, which caused her to chuckle.

“Well, now that we have that out of the way, can we switch to speaking normally? If I have to maintain “big-shot” speech for more than five minutes, I’ll get an aneurysm.”

“…”

“…”

“Fine, whatever. Can’t you let an old man enjoy himself a little?”

“Hehe, trust me, after your age passes the fifth digit, talking like that becomes really bothersome.”

Hagoromo couldn’t help but frown when he heard Yuna mentioning her supposed old age. He was just about to ask her about it when Yuna wagged her finger at him.

“Asking a woman about her age is a big no-no.”

His frown deepened even further after Yuna casually predicted his next question. Well, not that it was really hard to predict, but this, wasn’t the first time that he noticed Yuna, so he couldn’t help but be a little suspicious of everything she does.

The first time he noticed her was actually before she was even born. The inheritance of one of his sons, Asura Otsutsuki, was, for the very first time, going to be inherited by twins instead of a single person, but moments before it could happen, the previously split inheritance combined again and attached itself to the male twin only.

The second time, was not too long ago when she froze Orochimaru’s arms. He noticed that something felt off about the ice, and a short while later he got to witness what it was. Despite the frozen arms being shattered and regrown, they stayed frozen, which was something that should not be possible with chakra.

The last time was, obviously, when this area was created. Or to be more precise, when he felt an aura that by far surpassed anything he had ever felt before.

Yuna was an anomaly, that much was obvious to Hagoromo. He just didn’t know what he was supposed to do with that information. While the first and second incidents weren’t too interesting to him, the last one was of high significance. Someone with a presence that could even surpass himself could be a huge danger to the world.

Yuna chuckled a little when she noticed that the more Hagoromo pondered, the more hostile he seemed to become. Truth be told, that wasn’t surprising for Yuna. He seemed to have fused himself with the world itself and seemed rather protective of it, so someone like herself, who had the potential to destroy it was naturally someone he had to be cautious of.

“Hehe, I know what you are thinking about, but I don’t think you, becoming hostile to me, is a good idea. I survived threats far greater than you with much less power and experience at my disposal than I have now and besides that, it is not like we have any reason to be hostile against each other. I don’t think I have shown any intentions towards ruling or destroying this world. I mean, I even rejected that annoying fate nonsense that tried to cling to me before I was born, so my aim is obviously beyond just this planet.”

Hagoromo’s eyes widened when he heard that Yuna rejected the inheritance on her own. Something like that should be a huge boon for anyone who could get their hands on it, so the option of not accepting it didn’t even appear in his mind. Besides that, Yuna was talking about all kinds of nonsense, that he simply couldn’t believe, but at the same time he thought it might be real. At least her supposed age would explain how she could reject something before she was even born.

‘The only possible answer is reincarnation or something similar. But unlike the way my two sons did it, by only having their future descendants have their chakra and fate, she actually kept her memory. Is that even possible?’

A serious expression appeared on Hagoromo’s face as he maintained eye contact with Yuna.

“Who…no, what are you?”
