Yuna was currently walking through the depth of the Uzumaki compound with steady steps and a solemn expression on her face.
Over the course of the last two years, the underground network under the Uzumaki compound has been steadily increasing in size, and by now, a giant network of interconnected tunnels has been created that, due to unrestricted use of space expansion seals, still didn’t extend further than the boundaries of the Uzumaki compound.
Some might think it would be good to have some kind of emergency exit that led out of Konoha, but Yuna thought differently. Rather than secure a path that could help people escape the Uzumaki compound, it was much more likely that it would be used to infiltrate the compound from the outside. Additionally, Yuna could create an emergency exit at any time due to her skills in space-related seals.
Anyway, the Uzumaki clan used this underground network for all kinds of things, ranging from simple training to researching new and dangerous seals.
However, right now, Yuna was on her way to a place that very few people ever visited. In fact, the only people who ever came here were Naruto and her. Although all the people that were close to Yuna had access to this place, there was very little reason for anyone but Yuna and Naruto to come here.
After a few more minutes of walking, Yuna arrived at her destination, and after injecting her chakra into the door in front of her, it opened up.
Yuna stepped through the door and couldn’t help but smile a little when she saw the room’s interior. Unlike what one might expect from a room hidden away this deep under the Uzumaki compound, its interior was relatively simple. It was a kitchen.
The only unusual thing about it was a huge machine that stood in one corner of the room, which Yuna swiftly approached.
‘Mhh~ I have been using quite a lot over the last month, so I guess I should restoke while I am here~’
Yuna’s fingers moved as she quickly typed a few things on the keyboard that was attached to the machine, and after confirming that everything was configured how she wanted it to be, she hit the enter button, and the machine started working.
‘One hundred should last me for a while. Well, they are just for small fry, after all, so it’s also possible that I use them up within a short time if there’s a good opportunity. Next, I will make the ones that are reserved for special targets that I have already succeeded against and targets that are only a little special. Finally, I will make another batch that is reserved for the special targets that I haven’t got a hit on. Well, I already got Hagoromo, so I guess there are very few targets that could still be considered “special”, but I won’t fret over that. I mean, I hit Mito and the Third Raikage with one of those as well, so I will just designate those that have strength above a normal Kage as worthy of being hit by them.’
When Yuna finished her contemplation, she hummed in satisfaction as she put on an apron and started taking out ingredients from one of the storage seals she always carried.
‘Let’s see, what flavor should I use this time? Strawberry? I am sure those Akatsuki weirdos will like strawberry flavor. I wonder what kind of flavor Madara prefers? Now that I think about it, I haven’t got a hit on Obito yet; what a blunder. Is he a special target or only a little special…Meh, little special will do; I hope he likes strawberries.’
While Yuna was preparing the ingredients with practiced ease, the large machine she previously activated hummed a little, indicating that the first one was done and that it was transferred into one of her storage seals.
‘Although it wasn’t easy to build a machine that makes them automatically, and Naruto and I spent quite some time designing that thing, it certainly was worth it. If I had to waste my time creating ammunition that would only be used against random small fries, that would seriously annoy me.’
While Yuna was happily mixing together all kinds of ingredients, the door opened, and another person entered the room.
“Oh? So you are here as well, nee-san.”
Yuna glanced at the entrance and saw Naruto entering the room while putting on an apron as well. She gave him a slight nod as a greeting and resumed her work. Just like Yuna, Naruto headed towards the big machine first and swiftly started typing in commands as well.
“One hundred!? That’s quite a lot, nee-san. Do you plan anything big?”
Yuna couldn’t help but chuckle a little before shaking her head in denial.
“Not really, but the last round of the chunin exam will start soon, and I don’t want to run empty in the middle of it.”
Naruto thought about Yuna’s answer before nodding his head in acknowledgment.
“I see, that makes sense.”
While Naruto was typing away on the machine’s keyboard, Yuna glanced at what Naruto was doing and couldn’t help but widen her eyes in surprise.
“One thousand!? What in the world do you plan to do, and I would like to participate as well.”
“Haha, have you forgotten, nee-san? I will be traveling with the young pervert for about a year, so I need to stock up enough to last me a whole year.”
Yuna couldn’t help but deflate a little when she heard that Naruto wasn’t planning anything big and was just preparing himself for his journey.
“I see, that’s a pity. I was looking forward to doing something big. Now that I think about it, we should do something big after you return to Konoha. We’ll treat it as a welcome back party.”
Naruto could have sworn he heard Tsunade’s screams of despair for a split-second, but he dismissed it as an illusion before nodding his head in confirmation.
“Let’s do it; this will be fun, nee-san.”
Yuna and Naruto both started smiling when he finished speaking. If another person was in the room, they would probably faint immediately after seeing two people smiling in a way that twisted their face to a degree that someone might question their humanity.
Naruto finished typing and hit the enter button to queue up his order to the machine a short moment later. He nodded in satisfaction and took out a bunch of ingredients just like Yuna previously did.
“Well, let’s get baking.”
“Yup, those cakes won’t bake themselves. Well, at least not the good ones.”
Naruto chuckled a little at Yuna’s words and nodded his head in agreement. Just like Yuna, he started meticulously preparing the ingredients while happily humming to himself.
‘Seems like nee-san is going for strawberry, so I guess I will make my first batch like that as well. After that…mhh~ maybe cheese? Somewhat simple, but definitely a classic. Yup, I will go with cheese next.’
