Chapter 417: A good Candidat

The rest of the day passed peacefully, and Tsunade was currently sitting in her office while surveying the damage. Franky, there was almost non.

No casualties. And not a single person who was heavily wounded. The worst damage was a few collapsed buildings, which, considering Konoha was attacked by multiple S-Rank shinobi, was neglectable.

Moments later, someone knocked on the door, causing Tsunade to sigh.

‘More work, huh. Let’s see what this is about.’

She was just about to allow the knocker to enter when someone appeared behind. Her first instinct was to attack the person without a moment of hesitation, but Tsunade quickly noticed that the person wasn’t moving at all, making it rather unlikely for him to be an assassin.

The person had long black hair with blue streaks and was wearing an ANBU-style fox mask, giving Tsunad a relatively good idea of who it was.

“What are you doing here, Yuna?”

“Trust me; you will thank me for this one.”

Tsunade’s eyebrow rose due to Yuna’s words. She pondered the situation for a moment before shrugging her shoulders.

“Fine, whatever. Enter!”

After Tsunade gave permission, the door opened, revealing an ANBU closely followed by a young man with spiky black hair and black eyes.

“Sasuke Uchiha has returned to the village and wanted to meet you, Hokage-sama.”

Tsunade immediately was annoyed by that.

‘That’s fine and all, but why did you bring him here immediately while wagging your tail like a dog that wants to be praised. I guess a few people still revere the Uchiha clan. How annoying.’

Although Tsunade heard about his contribution during the battle, she didn’t want to bother with that yet, since other things were more important. Well, since he was here anyway, she might as well get this out of the way.

“Thank you for informing me about that and directly bringing him here as well.”

The ANBU flinched when he heard the apparent displeasure in Tsunade’s voice. He just realized that by bringing Sasuke here directly, before informing Tsunade, he pretty much ignored Tsunade’s opinion on the matter.

“T-That, I apologize, Hokage-sama.”

Tsunade sighed again and waved the ANBU away, causing him to sigh in relief.

“Well, what can I do for you, Sasuke Uchiha.”

Sasuke eyed the masked woman standing behind Tsunade for a moment before ignoring her and focusing on Tsunade instead.

“I want to become part of Konoha’s shinobi force again.”

Tsunade nodded in acknowledgment. After all, she pretty much expected that to be the case. Why else would Sasuke return to Konoha?

“Mhh, that is fine. Although you went rough three years ago, there are no reports of you hurting any Konoha shinobi, so allowing you to come back should be no problem.”

Sasuke nodded in understanding and resumed talking.

“Additionally, I killed two more members of Akatsuki outside of Konoha.”

Tsunade’s eyebrow rose when Sasuke made that claim. As far as she knew, the only members still left were Zetzu and the masked man Yuna claimes to be Obito. Did Sasuke really kill those two? She was a little skeptical about that.

Well, Yuna still hasn’t told her that there were currently three Akatsuki members inside the Uzumaki compound, so she could only assume that Zetzu and Obito were the only ones left.

“Oh? You did? I assume you have the corpses?”

Sasuke nodded his head and unfurled a small storage scroll. He put it on the ground, and after injecting some chakra into it, two people in Akatsuki robes appeared.

Tsunade’s eyes widened in surprise when she saw the two people. They were Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, who previously had a spot as Konoha’s elder, but were put into prison for all kinds of different crimes.

Tsunade was aware that the duo managed to break out of prison a while ago but did not expect to find them in such a fashion.

“I found them outside Konoha. Apparently, they helped Akatsuki with the infiltration of Konoha.”

While Sasuke was looking smug, Tsunade couldn’t help but frown. The prison break was already very suspicious, and this whole situation makes it even worse.

‘Would these two really join Akatsuki and help them attack Konoha? How come Sasuke was conveniently in the vicinity when Akatsuki attacked. All of this is very suspicious. And, what makes me the most suspicious, is definitely Yuna’s presence in this very room. What is she plotting, and how much of this whole situation was orchestrated by her.’

While Tsunade was deep in thought, Yuna leaned forwards and whispered in her ear.

“High contribution, war hero, hasn’t been here for the last three years, and a glorious Uchiha.”

At first, Tsunade had no idea why Yuna was whispering that kind of stuff into her ear, but moments later, everything clicked together as her eyes started shining.

‘I can dump the Hokage position on him! He is still a bit young to do so now, but it’s only a matter of a few years, hahaha.’

Meanwhile, Sasuke was becoming more dissatisfied by Tsunade’s restraint reaction. He was just about to complain when a massive grin appeared on Tsunade’s face.

“Really outstanding! To think you defeated three Akatsuki members by yourself. Truly impressive. Considering your strength, there is no problem with directly promoting you to Jonin. We planned to hold a festival due winning this fight. I planned to give the most significant contributors an award, and as the biggest contributor, you will naturally receive one as well.”

Sasuke’s facial expression immediately filled with arrogance, and he slightly lifted up his head. Tsunade couldn’t help but get excited when she saw Sasuke’s reaction.

‘Gullible! He’s so gullible that I almost feel sorry for him. I need to plan this out properly. I need to keep his contact with Yuna as small as possible and make sure that I always look relaxed when he enters my office. Hehe, poor little Uchiha, I hope you will enjoy all the paperwork and the mess Yuna occasionally causes.’

Sasuke felt a chill go down his spine, causing him to look around in confusion.

‘Weird, what was that?’
