Chapter 201: Interrogating Hisoka
A groan escaped Hisoka’s mouth as she slowly opened her eyes.
‘*Urgh* What happened? The last thing I remember is…Yuna apologizing to me…Did someone knock me out? What is going on?’
At first, she tried circulating her chakra, but to her chagrin, she couldn’t move it at all. Next, she tried moving her arms and legs and quickly realized that she was tied to a chair. She slowly lifted her head to get a better look at her surrounding, but when she managed to take a glance at the two people who were in the room as well, she immediately raised her head and looked at them in wonder.
‘Hinata and Anko? What is going on? Why are these two together? Are they the ones that knocked me out? Why would they do that?’
While Hisoka was getting more and more confused, Hinata and Anko noticed that she has woken up. Anko chuckled a little while looking amused, and Hinata had a serious expression on her face and a dangerous glint in her eyes.
“Seems like you have woken up. Guess we can start then.”
Hisoka couldn’t help but feel a little afraid when she looked into Hinata’s eyes and considering she knew Anko’s personality due to the memories of her previous life, Anko’s presence didn’t make her feel better either.
‘Although I am not sure, Anko should be in the T&I department, right? Does she want to interrogate me? Why would she do that? Has Hinata also joined the T&I department? Is that why she is here?’
“W-What do you two want from me?”
“Hehe, nothing much. We would just like to ask you a few questions and if you answer them without lying and how I want you to, you will leave this room without a scratch.”
“Hahaha, what the hell, Hinata? What do you even mean by “how I want you to”? What is she supposed to do if she is telling the truth and you don’t like the answer?”
“Isn’t that obvious? She needs to change her answer while making sure that the changed answer becomes the truth.”
“Pfhahaha, that’s so unreasonable! I love it!”
Hearing Hinata and Anko bantering with each other, Hisoka was rather dumbfounded. Although she wasn’t sure about it since it has been a while since she had seen the anime, she was pretty sure that Hinata and Anko never even spoke with each other during the whole series, but it seemed like this timeline went a little differently, since they seemed to be rather good friends.
After the duo finished chatting with each other, Hinata’s attention returned to Hisoka.
“Well, whatever. Let’s just start and see where this goes. First question: Do you like women or men?”
“Huh? T-That certainly wasn’t the question I expected you to ask, but if you really want to know that, I like women.”
The moment Hisoka answered Hinata’s question, the atmosphere in the room turned slightly dangerous, while the relaxed expression that appeared on Hinata’s face after chatting with Anko became stern, again. Hisoka had no idea what she did wrong, but that, apparently, was the wrong answer.
“What kind of women do you like?”
Yet again, Hisoka was stunned by Hinata’s weird question but started thinking about the answer anyway. It was not like she had any other choice, after all.
Truth be told, she wasn’t entirely sure about the answer either. She thought about it for a short while, and then, an image of Karin appeared in her head.
‘Well, I might have no chance with her, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t find her attractive. Guess I will go with that image for now. Well, the image of the original Karin minus her addiction to Sasuke.’
“Mhh, although I am not entirely sure about it myself, I guess I like strong-willed women. Although the woman I want to be together with should have a serious personality, I would prefer it if she would occasionally goof around as well. Oh, and I like women with red, long hai…*urgh*.”
The more Hisoka spoke, the more pressure radiated out of Hinata, and when she said her last sentence, the pressure caused Hisoka to choke. Anko, meanwhile, looked like she was about to burst from trying to suppress her laughter, but neither Hinata nor Hisoka noticed that.
Hinata took a deep breath and calmed down a little, resulting in the pressure in the room lightening up as well. After taking another deep breath, Hinata asked another question.
“Very well, here comes the last and most important question. What do you think about having a harem?”
“Haa? Errr…well…That’s rather personal, but since I don’t really seem to have a choice, I guess I will just answer. Despite it being rather unrealistic, I would like to have one.”
Hisoka expected that Hinata’s anger would flare again, but Hinata only looked at her with confusion clearly visible in her eyes.
“Huh? What do you mean by “have one”? I thought you wanted to join one.”
“Eh? Join one? Whose harem am I supposed to join? In fact, I don’t even know a person who has a ha…rem…”
As soon as Hisoka finished speaking, all the puzzle pieces clicked into place and her face paled when she realized that the way she described the kind of woman she likes, the description could fit Yuna as well.
“I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO DESIRE TO JOIN YUNA’S HAREM!!! WHAT THE HELL!? WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK THAT!?”
“PFAHAHAHA!!! THIS WAS EVEN FUNNIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, HAHAHA!!!”
Hisoka’s outcry was the breaking point for Anko as she started laughing out loud. Hinata, meanwhile, realized that Anko tricked her into thinking that Hisoka had a crush on Yuna and a small blush appeared on her face. A short moment later, Hinata managed to suppress the shame and zeroed in on Anko.
“I see, so you tricked me, huh? Very well, time to die.”
As she said that, a thin sword appeared in Hinata’s hand and her chakra flared out, flooding the room. Instead of being surprised by Hinata’s action, a bloodthirsty smile appeared on Anko’s face as she got into a combat stance and flared her own chakra as well, increasing the pressure in the room even further and almost causing Hisoka to suffocate.
“Hehe, try me. It has been a while since we had our last proper fight, so let’s go all out, shall we?”
As Anko said that, red markings appeared under her eyes, while Hinata got blue ones. Both of them bent their knees and were about to jump at each other when a hand that was covered in red and blue fur knocked open the door.
“Yuna said that if you level the Uzumaki compound again, she will have to punish you.”
Hinata and Anko pouted when they heard what Kurama said and looked at each other like they were considering whether it was worth it or not to risk the punishment, but that quickly changed when Kurama said his next sentence.
“By the way, the punishments are no Dangos for a month for Anko and no head-pats for Hinata for a week.”
Hinata and Anko both paled when they heard that and immediately suppressed their chakra while pretending that they didn’t even consider starting the fight despite the punishment they would receive.
Feeling the overbearing pressure in the room diminish, Hisoka finally managed to take a breath and stabilize her consciousness that was about to slip away. She groggily scanned the room with her eyes and moments later she noticed the dog-sized fox that was giving Hinata and Anko an aloof smirk.
“Kurama…?”
The moment that name left her mouth, she knew she made a mistake as not only did Kurama’s fierce gaze fall on her, but Hinata and Anko’s as well.
‘Well, I have done f*ed up.’
