Chapter 250: End of the Second Test

Two more days passed, and the second part of the chunin exam was over. After the first attack on Gaara, no more attempts were made, and everything proceeded peacefully. Well, it proceeded as peacefully as an event inside a place called the Demon Desert could be. Despite that, four teams passed the second round.

Those four teams were the ones Yuna deemed interesting at the start of the exam. Guy’s team, the sword user team from Kiri, the team from Suna led by the person with the same condition as Lee and Yuna’s own team.

On a side note, Fuu’s team didn’t pass the second test because instead of focusing on the scrolls, Fuu was busy harassing people into becoming her friend.

The third part would start in a month, so everyone had plenty of time to prepare themselves for the next round. Unlike the chunin exam Yuna participated in, the matchups weren’t drawn yet and will be drawn on the day of the event.

“I don’t want to leave. There are still people I haven’t befriended yet!”

“Fuu, please be reasonable. We should return to Taki as soon as possible; otherwise, Shibuki-sama will be worried about you.”

“That’s right, Fuu. You don’t want to make Shibuki-sama worried, do you?”

Since Fuu’s team didn’t pass the second round, she had no reason to stay in Suna any longer, so Fuu’s “teammates” wanted to leave as soon as possible. As for the real reason why they wanted to leave…

“Yuna, say something! You don’t want me to leave either, right?”

…it was because Fuu was interacting more and more with Yuna, and the duo was absolutely terrified by Yuna’s presence.

Since her moniker in the bingo book was “Bijuu Slayer”, they somehow convinced themselves that Yuna wanted to get close to Fuu to kill her as well.

They did everything they could to keep Yuna away from Fuu, and every time that didn’t work, they would try to ditch Fuu and at least stay away from themself.

Unfortunately for them, Fuu has gotten addicted to head pats, so since she wanted to be a “good girl” and earn head pats, she was dragging those two with her wherever she went. After all: A good girl doesn’t ditch her teammates.

“Isn’t it fine, Fuu? You still remember what we talked about, right? We will get plenty of opportunities to meet in the future, so you should return, for now, so Shibuki doesn’t have to worry about your wellbeing.”

A pout immediately appeared on Fuu’s face when she heard Yuna’s words.

“So mean~ Aren’t you my friend? Shouldn’t you be on my side?”

Yuna smiled a little before she started to pat Fuu’s head, causing her pout to turn into a happy smile.

“Be a good girl, okay, Fuu?”

“*Urgh* It’s unfair to convince me like that.”

“Hahaha, welcome in the real world. Acting unfair is usually the best way to get what you want.”

Although Fuu pout returned when she heard Yuna’s words, a reluctant sigh left her mouth after a short moment.

“Fine, I am leaving now, but the next time we see each other, you better give me a lot of head pats.”

“Sure, sure, I will give you plenty.”

Although Fuu’s mood improved when she heard Yuna’s words, she still had a slightly annoyed expression on her face when it was time to return to Takigakure.

Since Fuu’s departure, another day passed, and Yuna was currently meditating inside her room with a frown on her face. She wasn’t sure why, but she felt that something was off. Her instincts were telling her that she oversaw something important, but no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t find the answer.

She was just about to comb through her memories again when some frantically knocked on her door.

“Yuna-sensei, I just remembered something important about this “event”.”

Yuna’s eyebrow rose when she heard Hisoka use the term “event”. The way Hisoka said it could only mean that she remembered something about the exam from the timeline she knew.

Yuna waved her hand, resulting in hundreds of seals all over the room to light up, and moments later, their glow diminished, and the door opened.

Hisoka quickly entered Yuna’s room, and as soon as she was inside, the door closed again, and the seals covering the room started glowing again and vanished moments later.

“You can talk; the room is secure.”

“You have been spending some time with that brown-skinned girl, right? I am not entirely certain, but she is a Jinchuuriki, isn’t she?”

Yuna simply nodded her head in acknowledgment when she heard Hisoka’s questions. There was no point in hiding it, after all.

“I see; as usual, I can make no guarantees about it, but in the timeline I know, Fuu will be captured by Akatsuki on her way home from the chunin exam and will die due to her Bijuu getting extracted from her.”

Yuna nodded her head in understanding and, moments later, shrugged her shoulders.

“Thank you for the warning, but there is no need to worry about that. I have already given one of my kunai to Fuu, so if she gets attacked by Akatsuki, she can just throw it, and I will appear by her side.”

Hisoka sighed in relief when she heard Yuna’s words.

“That is good. I would prefer it if we could stop them before they even get the chance to awaken the Juubi.”

Yuna chuckled a little, and moments later, the seals in the room lit up again to allow Hisoka to leave the room. The moment she was gone, a deep frown appeared on Yuna’s face.

‘Is that why my instincts were warning me? But since Fuu has my kunai, there should be no problems. Even if she somehow found herself in front of enemies even I can’t beat, I am still confident in safely running away. Maybe she gets ambushed and knocked out before she could throw the kunai? That is nonsense. Despite her immature personality, she was still a full-fledged shinobi, and whit Chomei unsealed, she is quite the powerhouse as well. What is going on?’

Yuna’s frown became even more profound, and as she kept pondering, her eyes suddenly widened in realization.

‘Damnit! It’s possible that that stupid girl didn’t want to call me because she thought that I would be in danger as well. So, instead of dragging her friend down with her, she decided to fight by herself.’

[You should teleport to her to have a look, and if nothing has happened yet, give her another warning about using your kunai properly. I don’t want Chomei to fall in Akatsuki’s hands.]

‘I agree. Shit, if Fuu really is in danger and doesn’t want to use my kunai, then she won’t be getting any head pats for months!’

Without wasting any more time, Yuna disappeared from her room.
