Chapter 237: Wherever She Goes, He Goes Too

“I’ve seen how Zhu’er has grown these few months. She’s cleansed her marrow and uses a different way of training, and I know this alternative method comes from you.” Luo Yuanjie paused for a while before continuing in a very solemn voice, “For everything you’ve done for Zhu’er, thank you.”

Feng Tianlan quietly waited for him to finish speaking. “Yunzhu is my friend.”

Everything she had done was because Yunzhu was her friend and no other reason.

Luo Yuanjie watched Feng Tianlan open the door and walk out. He couldn’t help but think that perhaps she was the one with the destiny of a phoenix who would fly high and mighty in the future. He wasn’t sure if it would be good or bad for Yunzhu to stick with her.

“Tianlan, my father didn’t make things difficult for you, did he?”

Feng Tianlan looked at Luo Yunzhu, who had rushed over to her. “No, he didn’t. Your father isn’t so mean.”

“He dotes on me, but I’m afraid that’s exactly why he might make things difficult for you.” Luo Yunzhu pouted. Her father had stopped her from playing with Tianlan very often ever since they were young, so she was afraid he might make life hard for Tianlan.

The three of them reached the library and found that it was immaculate, so there was no need to tidy up. On the surface, Dean Luo was punishing them, but in actuality, this was like giving them special treatment. They could read any books they wanted, even the ones in the attic.

Feng Tianlan continuously read the books in the library. There were many techniques written in them. Thanks to the combination of her photographic memory and advanced comprehension skills, reading all this new material added much to her knowledge.

They ended up staying inside the library for ten days and came out after Feng Tianlan was nearly done reading.

When they walked past the academy’s martial training square, it was extremely crowded. Some people were in the battle ring, and a panel of judges was seated in the stands. The three of them exchanged quizzical looks.

“What’s going on?” Luo Yunzhu randomly grabbed someone and asked.

“This year’s test in the Misty Forest has been brought forward, so now they’re testing everyone’s skill level. Everyone who is a Mid-stage Spiritualist or higher can go for the test. Apparently, the prize this year is very generous.”

Luo Yunzhu thanked him and explained to Feng Tianlan what was going on. Every year, the academy administered a test, and, every year, the test’s location changed. Usually, it took place during the last three months before the holidays, so this year’s test had been moved forward considerably.

“I don’t know what made them decide to administer the exam so early this year.”

Feng Tianlan looked at the judges in the stands and noticed a familiar figure among them. After looking more closely, she raised an eyebrow. “Yunzhu, who in the academy gets to be a judge?”

“The judges are all teachers in the academy.” Luo Yunzhu was about to ask why Feng Tianlan had asked that question when she also also saw the familiar figure. Her eyes immediately widened. “What’s Tu Xiupei doing there?”

Feng Tianlan shrugged. “Let’s go for this test, too. I’m pretty interested in this Misty Forest.”

Luo Yunzhu nodded and brought them over to register their names and wait for their turn.

Soon, their turn came, and there was an uproar.

“My dear little sister, don’t bother joining in the fun. This test is meant for those who are at least the Mid-stage Spiritualist level. Are you even at the Spiritualist level yet?” Luo Zhouquan’s face was still slightly bruised as he mocked Luo Yunzhu.

“Brother, haven’t you been beaten enough yet?” Luo Yunzhu impatiently pushed him aside and put her hands on the testing rock.

“There’s no point in testing! A good-for-nothing is a good-for…” Luo Zhouquan looked up at the skill level displayed on the testing rock and was instantly struck dumb. He gaped at Luo Yunzhu in disbelief.

How could this be?

Luo Yunzhu gleefully smiled at him. “Brother is a Mid-stage Spiritualist, so where did you get the gall to call a First-stage Spiritualist a good-for-nothing?”

When it was Feng Tianlan’s turn, there was a deafening sound of screams and shouts. Feng Tianlan looked up curiously…
