Chapter 337: No Pain No Gain

Feng Tianlan quizzically observed Si Mobai’s behavior then asked, “What’s wrong?” His expression had become very grave after touching the red dot.

Si Mobai snapped out of it and put his hand down as he looked at Feng Tianlan. He decided to go along with her, saying, “I won’t interfere so long as your life is not in danger.”

The seal couldn’t be broken in the near future, nor could it be broken now. If those people discovered who he was, then Si Ming, Demon Palace, Lan’er, all of them would be in terrible danger—danger far greater than they were facing now.

“Actually, you should believe in me.” Feng Tianlan bit her lip and looked up straight at Si Mobai. She said, “There’s nobody on the Guiyuan Continent who can hurt me, and all cultivators are bound to get hurt.”

She was reasonably confident that nobody on the Guiyuan Continent could kill her, even if one counted the people from Flying Frost Pavilion. But her skill level was still low, so some injuries, even severe ones, were unavoidable.

Si Mobai looked at the self-confidence and bold arrogance slapped across Feng Tianlan’s face. His heart was much moved whenever she was like that. He also believed in her without a doubt. She had this sort of charm and capability.

“Even if I believe in you, I’ll still be worried.” He didn’t want to take her life lightly. Even if she were the sky itself, he would still worry that it might one day suddenly fall.

Feng Tianlan couldn’t help her face from reddening. She said, “Enough, you go ahead.”

Si Mobai gently grunted. He had to give her enough time and space to mature because they had a long road ahead. After this stint in the Misty Forest, he wouldn’t be able to be by her side all the time. It was good to allow her to grow and become a strong fighter by herself.

No pain, no gain!

“Oh, my, my! Our little Lan’er’s heart has been moved!” Luo Yunzhu immediately hurried over the moment Si Mobai left. She laughed and teased Feng Tianlan when she saw that Feng Tianlan’s face was all red from shyness.

Feng Tianlan glared in annoyance at her and snapped, “What nonsense are you saying?”

“What nonsense? Anyone who’s not blind can see it.” Luo Yunzhu poked Feng Tianlan in the face then ran to catch up with her when Feng Tianlan turned to leave. “Since that incident, you’ve become much colder than before. Cold enough to be South Peace City’s second Wargod. But then, in front of Si Mobai, you display all these shy behaviors and emotions. That makes you more human, ok?”

“I’m always the same with all of you.” Feng Tianlan thought about how she had treated everyone equally since her rebirth. She didn’t think that there was much of a difference.

“The same? Far from it. Have you been angry with me? Have you been shy around me?”

Feng Tianlan stopped in her tracks and looked at Luo Yunzhu. She was about to retort, but Luo Yunzhu was a step ahead of her. She said, “It’s only normal that you’ve never been angry with me. But you weren’t angry at all even when faced with those people who insulted you. Even after you punished them and killed them, you didn’t even blink an eye. You’re like a wooden dummy that doesn’t have a soul.”

Feng Tianlan frowned. She felt that Luo Yunzhu was just exaggerating. Feng Tianlan was only good at covering up her emotions and didn’t like them to show.

“Even in front of us, the only emotion you display is how you want to be nice to us and protect us. But it’s different in front of the Wargod. You’re shy, you’re angry, you’re frustrated…”

Luo Yunzhu tilted her head as if she didn’t know how to describe the situation any clearer. The words got stuck for a while before she continued, “In any case, in front of us, you’re like this woodblock that passes off as human. But in front of Wargod, you’re a real person with a soul. That’s the real you.”

“That’s not true. I am the same around everyone,” Feng Tianlan calmly replied.

“Actually, you didn’t have many feelings for Si Rong, either. You only liked him because that piece of paper about your engagement misled you.”
