Chapter 358: Baring It All with Si Mobai

“I’m sorry,” Feng Tianlan looked down and said. If not for her, Si Mobai would not have unsealed his powers. If things hadn’t gone south, the consequences…

Feng Tianlan dared not think about what could have been. It was something she could not bear.

“No, in a situation like that, he has to and ought to,” Si Ming quickly countered.

Feng Tianlan was puzzled by the emperor’s reply. Why did she feel as if he were taking her side? Under normal circumstances, shouldn’t the emperor punish her?

“Mobai is special. Now that his seal is broken, not only has it damaged to his health, it may attract formidable powerhouses that are much stronger than you can ever imagine. Spiritualists who want the world to themselves may attack at any moment, and that would be dangerous for both of you. From now on, you have to be careful not to let your blood touch his birthmark. Should the seal break again, forcefully close it with this talisman…”

Feng Tianlan finally understood. This seal on Si Mobai was a double edge sword, damaging both the enemy and the user when lifted. However, what role did her blood play in all this?

Si Ming refrained from speaking further. After all, this was a matter between the couple. As Si Mobai’s subordinate, he should not interfere.

“Will he be okay?” Feng Tianlan asked. She worriedly gazed at Si Mobai, who was buried in sleep.

“Other than occasional chills, he will be fine. I cannot be away from South Peace City for too long. I must be heading back.”

Feng Tianlan nodded. Si Ming was the ruler of this continent. If people caught wind of his solo departure from South Peace City, not only would it put him in danger, but the country could be plunged into chaos.

Si Ming hesitated then told Feng Tianlan anyway, “Keep your real identity as the Lady Phoenix under wraps for the time being. You and Mobai are both endowed with special abilities. Once others hear about this, both of you will be in grave danger.”

Before Feng Tianlan could probe any further, Si Ming was already gone. All of her questions had to be left unanswered.

Meanwhile, a ragged-looking Si Mobai was still wearing his bloodied clothes from yesterday. Feng Tianlan paused and pondered what to do. After much deliberation, she finally called in a servant to help clean up Si Mobai and change him into fresh clothes.

She left his side to stand guard at the door. A few minutes later, there was a loud thud inside the room. Feng Tianlan jolted from shock and barged back in. Terror rose in her heart as she called out, “Mobai!”

When the door flew open, she smelled blood right away. She rushed up to Si Mobai, only to see that he was still sleeping soundly. Feng Tianlan heaved a massive sigh of relief. She thought he was suffering from reversed corrosion by the broken seal.

“Miss…”

Feng Tianlan followed the weak voice and saw the servant lying prone on the floor in a pool of blood. She exclaimed, “What happened?”

“The Wargod didn’t allow me to touch him. The moment I approached him, he sent me flying with his fist.” If he had touched the Wargod, the servant would probably be dead by now.

Even as a sick man, the demon Wargod would always be the demon Wargod.

“You should leave now.”

The servant scampered away as if he had been excused from a much-dreaded duty. The Wargod was indeed as terrifying as the rumors made him out to be.

Feng Tianlan looked at Si Mobai’s haggard face. Memories pulled her back to that night when he had pushed her away to protect her. The walls of her guarded heart crumbled in an instant. In the end, she could not resist his sincerity and genuine heart.

She sat quietly beside him and meticulously started cleaning his hands, face, and neck with a wrung cloth. However, at his belt, her hands froze.

Clean his body and change his clothes?

Wouldn’t he need to bare it all?

Feng Tianlan withdrew her hands as a pretty pink filled her pale cheeks. She stared at the bloodstains oxidizing into filthy black on his white belt. She reached out again for the blackened belt but drew her hands back. She was torn. Should she undress him or not? Should she wipe him down or not?
