Chapter 586: Your Husband is Here, Don’t Force Yourself

Feng Tianlan’s body suddenly collapsed and fell into his embrace. She clasped her hands around his waist and buried her face in his chest. “Mobai…”

“Your husband is here, so don’t force yourself.” Si Mobai gently stroked her back. When he was around, she could laugh and cry whenever she wanted. There was no need to restrain herself or put on a cold demeanor as a strong front.

Feng Tianlan choked with sobs as her tears dripped without a sound. Then, her sobbing grew louder and louder, as if she were a child letting out all the sorrow, sadness, and pain buried inside.

She wept for the betrayals in her previous life, her suffering during her agonizing death, and the remorse she felt for her parents.

Much later, Si Mobai noticed the sobs becoming quieter, until they fell silent. He looked down and saw Feng Tianlan asleep in his arms. Two streaks of tears rolled down her face while her hands clutched at the cloth around his waist.

He carried her in his arms, gently laid her on the bed, and wiped away the tear streaks with a handkerchief. He watched her sleep deeply, yet her hand grasped at his clothes anxiously. He lowered his head and softly kissed the red zhusha between her brows. “Your husband is leaving for a moment, he’ll be back very soon.”

Having said this, he carefully released her hand and created a barrier inside the house. “Take care of her,” he instructed Azurite. “Until I come back, you’re not allowed to leave the house. If Lan’er wakes up, tell her that I left looking for Gu Yun, and ask her to wait.”

This time, Fenglan didn’t just fall into a slumber. During her sleep, her temperature vacillated between hot and cold. Her health had never been worse. More than once, she approached the brink of death, only to be brought back by sheer willpower.

Si Mobai split his time between investigating Gu Yun and staying by her side. Since he had chosen to be her husband, he was determined to support and protect her in weal and woe.

In her dream, Feng Tianlan kept reliving her previous life’s torturous death, as well as the other strange dreams that she had before. These scenes repeated over and over until she saw her face being peeled away by Jiang Ying and her body turning numb. She suddenly jolted awake.

“Mobai,” she called out softly, then turned her head.

Si Mobai stared at her sleepy eyes. At the sight of him, she gradually regained energy. He nodded and reached out to her to hold her up. “Are you feeling better?”

“How long was I asleep for?” Feng Tianlan rested on the bedside.

“More than two weeks.” Si Mobai rose to fetch her clothes. “Come, let’s get your revenge.”

He knew what she was preoccupied with and what she wanted to do more than anything else, so he wouldn’t try to convince her to change her mind. Only when her wish became fulfilled would she finally rest easy.

He would grant each and every one of her wishes!

“You found Gu Yun?” Feng Tianlan swiftly looked up, glancing at him with eyes full of hope.

Si Mobai nodded and helped her put on all of her clothing. “Yes, and we’re just waiting for you.”

“Yes.”

Si Mobai carried Feng Tianlan in his arms and stepped outside. He then made Azurite call the mayor of the Evanesce City, Wu Yuan, and Wu Qi. All of them left for the forbidden area of Evanesce City.

Wearing a veil, Gu Yun had just returned to the castle. Yet the first thing she saw was Si Mobai sitting on the throne, holding a sickly-looking Feng Tianlan in his arms. She froze and tried to run away, only to be barred by Wu Qi and Wu Yuan.

With nowhere to retreat, she had no choice but to turn around and face Feng Tianlan. Her gaze fell on Si Mobai. “Miss Feng is indeed well-deserving of the title of ‘Most beautiful woman of the Guiyuan Continent’. As soon as Young Master Wu married someone else, you seduced — ”

Before she could finish her words, her knees dropped to the floor with a bang — both of her knees sunk deeply into the gray tiles, as if they had sprouted out of them.
