Chapter 380: Time Will Tell All

After signing the natal contract, all Si Mobai’s energy was drained. He was weak and feeble as he leaned on Feng Tianlan. At the edge of his lips brimmed a smile. “Lan’er, in this life, I am forever yours.”

If he had known that she’d already had such an emotional entanglement before, he would have done this sooner. However, it was not too late now. She did not yet have enough of a sense of security, so he’d given it to her.

Feng Tianlan looked at the feeble Si Mobai. Complicated emotions filled her heart. Her eyes turned red as she angrily demanded, “Do you know what the consequences of doing that are? Do you know that this vow is completely unbeneficial to you? Don’t you realize the damage that can be done your body once you’ve signed a natal contract and taken a blood oath?”

“I know.”

Hearing his faint tone, Feng Tianlan growled, “If you know, then why did you do it?”

“If it makes you feel relieved and believe in me, then so what if I suffer all these?” Si Mobai replied indifferently. He wanted to give her a sense of security. She was so good, and she deserved that much.

“What if I don’t like you back? Then your infatuation will not pay off. It is not worth it. This is unfair to you.”

Si Mobai felt some warm droplets fall on his face. He raised his eyes slightly and looked at Feng Tianlan’s gentle, angular face. Another crystal-like teardrop rolled down her cheek. He smirked faintly and said, “That will not happen.”

He knew that he had touched her heart. One day, she would feel the same way about him.

“Promise me that, for the rest of your life, you either won’t like anyone at all or just like me and me alone.” Of course, if she dared to fall in love with someone else, he would kill that man.

Listening to Si Mobai’s overbearing declaration, Feng Tianlan’s antipathy disappeared. She raised her hand and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. “Go back and get some rest. Otherwise, given your current state, I’ll have to fall in love with a ghost.”

Si Mobai let out a faint laugh. “Turns out that Lan’er has a cheeky side.”

That was the real her.

Feng Tianlan didn’t want to talk to him after that. Since he’d forcefully signed the natal contract with her, his body would be frail for the next three days. Even his strength would be minimal.

A single-sided natal contract. If her life were ever in danger in the future, he would feel it immediately and instantly appear before her. However, the consequences would bring him bodily harm, as well as posing a severe threat to a great deal of his spiritual force.

There was one more reason for a natal contract—now, their lives and spiritual force would be shared. If he were weak, she would not be affected. The worst part was that, if she died, he would die too. However, if he were dead, not only would she remain alive, but all of Si Mobai’s spiritual force would be transferred to her.

Feng Tianlan looked down at Si Mobai, who was very pale. Ripples started to form at the bottom of her heart. She wondered which part of her was worthy enough of him doing such a thing. She couldn’t believe that he’d actually signed a single-sided natal contract and made a blood oath, disregarding the consequences entirely.

Si Mobai, time will tell whether I genuinely like you or was just temporarily emotionally moved.

Hopefully, both of them could withstand the test of time.

Luo Yunzhu was sitting in the courtyard. She was swinging her legs in boredom when she saw Feng Tianlan and Si Mobai walk in. She asked, “Are you guys done?”

She realized that Feng Tianlan was weakly supporting Si Mobai. She quickly went forward and asked, “Tianlan, what have you done to His Highness? Were you so brutal to the point that his legs went soft?”

Feng Tianlan’s mouth twitched. “Yunzhu, can’t you pull your mind out of the gutter?”

“Nope!” Luo Yunzhu raised her head and looked at Feng Tianlan. She noticed that her forehead was a little red and asked with worry, “Tianlan, are you alright?”

Before, when Tianlan had been injured by the ice phoenix, the same place on her forehead had turned red. It had subsided, but now it was red again. Could she have been attacked?
