Chapter 481: Shen Yunya’s True Colors

Shen Yunya felt very pleased with herself, looking at Tu Xiupei’s petrified expression. She laughed gently and extended her hands to touch Tu Xiupei’s face, which was lined with water droplets or drops of cold sweat. “Compared to Elder Sister, you are far worse.”

When Shen Qingdai died, she had not displayed such fear—only resentment. Until today, she could still remember the intensity of the hatred in her eyes. She really missed the look in Elder Sister’s eyes from that moment.

“What exactly do you intend to do with me? I am sure that I have not offended you in any way.” Tu Xiupei’s voice was full of terror. She felt as though a snake was crawling over her cheek. She could not help but curl her toes at the woman’s touch.

She had thought that Shen Yunya was just a woman with a pretty face and a haughty status and no real intellect. Little did she know that Shen Yunya had kept her true self so deeply hidden.

“I have come to warn you to be more self-aware.” Shen Yunya’s hand paused and stopped once more at her throat, her voice cold. “Don’t even think about being with Brother Jin. He can only marry one person in this lifetime, and that person is me, Shen Yunya.”

Tu Xiupei raised her head halfway, her extremely tense body stiff as a board. She spoke in a trembling voice, “It was he who said I was Dai’er.”

Brother Jin had thought so since the first time he saw her. As such, she should be the one marrying Brother Jin, not anyone else.

“Without me telling you about Elder Sister’s habits, actions, and preferences, do you think Brother Jin would believe you to be Dai’er?” Shen Yunya sniggered, stretching out her other hand to pat Tu Xiupei’s face gently. “Brother Jin has long suspected you. If it weren’t for me, Brother Jin would not let you off so easily for casually impersonating Elder Sister.”

Tu Xiupei thought that the hand patting her face was like a knife. It gave her goosebumps. “It was you who wrote that letter?”

At this moment, she recalled the letter she had received the same day that the Supreme received his letter. It was because of this that she decided to take a chance, and after practicing for three entire months, she started becoming more like Shen Qingdai.

“Are you surprised?” Shen Yunya raised her eyebrows lightly. She retracted her hands as if she could not stand touching filth anymore.

Tu Xiupei’s body stiffened. She could not understand why Shen Yunya was doing this. Since she had intended for her to pretend to be Shen Qingdai, why would she come to warn her like a true lunatic?

“To me, you are just a pawn. If you are useful, you will have wealth and glory, if you are not…” Shen Yunya smiled gently, but her smile hid a thirst for blood that could make anyone shiver in fear.

The unspoken words that what Shen Yunya had purposely avoided saying made Tu Xiupei all the more afraid. Everything had been within Shen Yunya’s calculations. She had been toying with her as if she was merely a plaything.

But was Tu Xiupei prepared to relent and resign to her fate as a pawn? She was definitely unwilling, but since she was weak, she had no choice but to oblige and wait patiently for the chance to expose Shen Yunya’s true colors.

After she decided what she would do, Tu Xiupei regained her courage. She believed, at least, that Shen Yunya would not kill her right this moment. “What do you want me to do?”

Shen Yunya seemed to be smiling with her eyes as she glanced at Tu Xiupei and chuckled happily. “I really like obedient pawns.”

Tu Xiupei avoided her gaze. She thought that Shen Yunya seemed to have seen right through her, the way her facial expression twisted, watching her one would a clown.

“What do you want me to do? Please tell me quickly. If I stay here much longer, Brother Jin will become suspicious.”

“Elder Sister did not like Brother Jin, thus you should not hang around him all the time. This would make him doubt you.”

“What should I do then?” Tu Xiupei asked anxiously. She could not wait to leave soon as she could. Being alone with Shen Yunya in the same room was terrifying for her.

Shen Yunya smiled gently as she looked at Tu Xiupei. “Elder Sister loved Brother Ying, so you should stay close to Brother Ying instead.”
