Chapter 336: Ensuring Trust and Safety

Tu Xiupei hid the gleefulness on her face. She lowered her eyes and said in a clear voice. “No. I’m too embarrassed to see Eldest Sister. Besides, if she’s protected by the Wargod, then I’ll just be creating trouble for you.”

When he heard Tu Xiupei’s gentleness and saw the way that she was so considerate toward him, his heart filled with love. He hugged her tightly and said, “Oh, how is my Pei’er such a kind woman?”

It would be better not to go. Perhaps the Wargod was really protecting Feng Tianlan. If he went, it would be unfortunate if he were spotted. Pei’er was really very thoughtful.

Tu Xiupei frowned in disgust because she didn’t like the way Qi Shujie was holding her. She was destined to be Big Brother Jin’s future empress, so who was he? How dare he hug her?

“Senior brother, let’s wait a bit longer. There is Spiritual grass in the Misty Forest. We can find it and make it into a pill so that you can reach the Spiritual King level. But, of course, since we’re sisters, I’ll have to help to bury Eldest Sister.”

Qi Shujie was so touched after hearing this that he grabbed Tu Xiupei’s hand. “Pei’er, you’re the best. Once the time is right, and everything has been settled, I’ll talk to Father about marrying you.”

Pei’er was so wonderfully generous. She still valued their sisterhood and remained willing to bury Feng Tianlan. She was really too kindhearted.

Tu Xiupei lowered her eyes and cursed him in her heart for being a fool. She wanted to stay here because she was afraid that Feng Tianlan would fake her death again. She had to observe for a while more before she could ascertain the truth. Feng Tianlan seemed to be able to survive anything. She was still alive after so many attempts on her life.

As for the Spiritual grass—that was for Tu Xiupei’s own use. She wanted to become a Spiritual Grandmaster, so how could she give something so valuable to someone else? Worse still, a disgusting man who dreamed of having her?

Feng Tianlan and the rest stayed in the same area for the next three days. They thought that the killer might come by to confirm whether they were alive or dead. But it seemed like the killer didn’t have that intention. Perhaps, he or she had other plans.

Si Mobai stood next to Feng Tianlan and said, “I will get to the bottom of this.”

“Si Mobai…” Feng Tianlan had just started speaking when she saw Si Mobai’s almond eyes turn unhappily toward her. She bit her lip and continued, “Mobai, I’ll go on by myself for the rest of the way. Please don’t interfere anymore.”

“No way.” Si Mobai refused immediately. Somebody was bent on killing Lan’er. How could he put that aside and just let her walk around in a forest filled with danger?

Feng Tianlan looked up at him and asked, “Didn’t you say you’d let me practice?”

That’s what he had said, yes. But in reality, he was always helping her. Otherwise, the situation with Tu Xiang and the rest wouldn’t have been settled so quickly.

Si Mobai’s face grew serious. He said, “That was on the assumption that your life wasn’t in danger.” Now that Tianlan’s life was in danger, how could he just sit there and do nothing? Initially, he hadn’t been too bothered. But as they’d interacted more, it was becoming harder and harder for him to leave her. Even if she was merely slightly injured, he still felt the urge to find her assailant and kill him.

“Fine. Then you can continue protecting me, and when I run into those enemies from the Xuantian Continent who are above the level of Earth Supreme, I’ll just grab them with my hands, right? Or are you going to break my wings and keep me by your side like a caged bird?”

Si Mobai pursed his lips and remained silent, letting Feng Tianlan’s retort sink in. If they were already having trouble on the Guiyuan Continent, then if they actually made it to the Xuantian Continent one day, they would be as pathetic as ants.

“Lan’er,” Si Mobai called to her weakly. She was born to be a phoenix that flew high in the skies. If her wings were broken, then she wouldn’t be who she was. Still, her words made sense.

On the Xuantian Continent, even a fifteen or sixteen-year-old was at least at the level of Dark Supreme. Soon after that, they would reach Prime Supreme, then God Supreme, and there were other factions of power as well. His enemies were even more powerful.

Si Mobai rubbed the red dot between his eyebrows. If he broke the seal…
