Chapter 483: I Believe You

Tu Xiupei agreed. If Shen Yunya wanted to know more about Feng Tianlan, she could easily help her. She would definitely portray Feng Tianlan as the most wonderful and desirable woman in the world so that Shen Yunya would feel great displeasure and jealousy.

“Sister, you must be more careful. Please heed my advice not to move around too much.” Shen Yunya helped Tu Xiupei as she opened the door. Her voice was full of care and disapproval.

Tu Xiupei saw Xi Jin standing at the door, his face displaying immense concern for her. When she heard Shen Yunya’s words, however, she felt a shiver down her spine. “I understand.”

Shen Yunya was warning her, telling her not to speak carelessly. It was too bad that she was the disadvantaged one in this situation and had to compromise and oblige her opponent.

Xi Jin extended his hands to help Tu Xiupei. “How could you be so careless? Does your foot hurt?”

“It’s nothing, just a slight sprain.” Tu Xiupei felt Shen Yunya’s gaze fall to where Xi Jin touched her arms as if she wanted to severe her arm with her eyes. She quickly pushed Xi Jin’s hand away. “Where is Brother Ying?”

Xi Jin froze. “He is resting in his room.” So, the one she cared about was indeed still Jiang Ying. “Let me take a look at your foot and get you some medication, lest the injury persists in the future.”

As Xi Jin bent down, Tu Xiupei stepped back in fear. “There’s no need for that, Ya’er has already helped me apply some medication. Brother Jin, please go and rest. I am a little tired and would like to rest now.”

Tu Xiupei was more than happy to indulge Xi Jin, but Shen Yunya would not allow that. With her gentle and amiable smile, like the one she had worn while threatening her, Shen Yunya was terrifying.

“Dai’er…” Xi Jin frowned.

Tu Xiupei quickly added, “Brother Jin, it’s improper for men and women to be physically close when they are not married.”

Shen Yunya was satisfied with Tu Xiupei’s performance and smiled gently. “Brother Jin, I will assist Elder Sister back to her room to rest. Don’t worry so much.”

A look of disappointment flashed across Xi Jin’s face for a moment. But he stood up quickly with the same doting and caring smile on his face. “Please take good care of Dai’er, and make sure you don’t become too tired as well!”

Shen Yunya acknowledged him briefly before she supported Tu Xiupei on their way back to her room. She even kindly laid her down on her bed. “Sister is indeed obedient. Hopefully, you will not make me worry about you in the future.”

“I will be good.” Tu Xiupei thought that Shen Yunya was very scary—she even put up her act so well when there was no one around.

Since the moment the two had left their room, Feng Tianlan saw what had happened. She felt very uncomfortable, especially when she looked at how dejected and disappointed Xi Jin was when facing Tu Xiupei. How could he feel so heartbroken for a swindler!

When Si Mobai lowered his head and found Feng Tianlan frowning, he felt an intense discomfort in his heart, as well as a sense of frustration. How could Lan’er feel sorry for another man in front of him!

“Mobai.” Feng Tianlan lifted her eyes and caught sight of Si Mobai’s gloomy face. His breathing had become somewhat irregular.

“Hm?”

Feng Tianlan explained, “I only see him as a brother. We depended on each other for survival in the past.”

If Shen Yunya had not killed her because of Brother Jin in her previous life, she would not have known about Brother Jin’s feelings for her in this lifetime. On her part, she had always looked up to Xi Jin as a brother since young. Her feelings for him were only that of love between siblings.

Si Mobai’s restless heart calmed down after hearing what Feng Tianlan said. “Your husband, Mobai, believes you.”

Feng Tianlan watched as Xi Jin left, looking dejected, and apologized to him over and over again in her heart. She really could not admit that she was Shen Qingdai. She could tell anyone the truth, just not him.

If he knew the truth about that bowl of dumplings, he would definitely go crazy, and his world would collapse.

At this moment, she could only think of one way to let him know that Shen Qingdai was well and truly dead, so he should stop looking for her, as whoever else he found would be a masquerading fake.

That was the only thing she could do for him.

As if he heard the thoughts of Feng Tianlan, Xi Jin paused and turned around to look at her. He saw Si Mobai standing behind her and gently frowned. Then, he turned again and left.
