Chapter 920: Xi Jin Interrogates Feng Tianlan

Upon hearing Feng Tianlan’s words, the guards responded in deep voices. In their hearts, they felt a greater respect for Her Highness. Before, they had thought that Her Highness was someone submissive. Only after getting along did they realize that Her Highness was a very good, very domineering woman and worthy of the master’s love.

They must help the master protect Her Highness!

“Her Highness, Crown Prince Jin is asking to see you outside.”

Upon hearing what the guard said, Feng Tianlan raised her brows slightly and thought about it for a moment. “Let him come in.”

Several guards retreated and stood guard at the entrance of the yard.

After a while, Xi Jin came in. He watched Feng Tianlan sip her tea with her head lowered. Under the sun, that beautiful face had a surreal aura. Even now, he still couldn’t believe that she was Dai’er.

“Is there something you need, Crown Prince Jin?” Feng Tianlan put down the teacup and raised her eyes to look at the dazed Xi Jin.

Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice, Xi Jin felt his heart grow cold again, and he sat down across from her. “Can’t I come even if there’s nothing I need, Dai’er?”

“Uh…”

“We’ve known each other for more than ten years, so do we have to be that distant with each other?” With a slight sullen expression in his gentle eyes, Xi Jin raised his eyes and looked at Feng Tianlan directly.

Feng Tianlan raised her eyes and looked at Xi Jin with some confusion. Was he angry?

Looking at Feng Tianlan’s clear eyes, just like before, he felt the anger in his heart suddenly disappear. His sullen voice became gentle again. “Lin’er told me to come,” he said.

“What’s wrong with Sister Lin?” Feng Tianlan asked worriedly. “Is she okay?”

Upon seeing how much Tianlan cared about Xi Lin, Xi Jin felt a little uncomfortable. “She’s okay, but her morning sickness is a little serious and she can’t eat anything.”

Feng Tianlan looked at him blankly. “You knew?” she asked.

“Lin’er told me everything.”

Facing Xi Jin’s fiery, angry, and questioning eyes, Feng Tianlan looked away uncomfortably. “You care about Sister Lin so much, so it would be strange if she didn’t say anything.”

“Why can you believe in Lin’er yet you can’t believe in me?” Xi Jin couldn’t help but deepen his voice as he questioned Feng Tianlan. Seeing that she wasn’t panicked and simply looked at him with a little confusion, he became even angrier. “You were willing to tell her that you’re Dai’er and were willing to tell her the truth regarding your death, but why couldn’t you tell me? Was it because I didn’t recognize you? Or did you suspect that I was in cahoots with Shen Yunya?”

Listening to Xi Jin questioning her with suppressed anger, Feng Tianlan raised her eyes to look at him. She then turned to look at the gardenia planted beside her. “Because no matter what I say, Sister Lin would believe in me.”

“When did I not believe in you?” he asked.

“You didn’t believe me when I said that Tu Xiupei wasn’t Shen Qingdai.” Feng Tianlan retorted.

Upon hearing this, Xi Jin felt all his anger and urge to question her being choked back. In the end, he could only feebly say, “But at that time, you didn’t admit that you were Dai’er.”

Holding the teacup in her hand, Feng Tianlan said with lowered eyes, “Just because I didn’t have Dai’er’s face, you didn’t believe in me? Then if someone disguised themself with my face, would you believe in everything that person says?”

“Dai’er…”

Feng Tianlan raised her eyes and looked at Xi Jin with a fixed gaze. “Crown Prince Jin, do you believe in Dai’er’s face and those little movements, or do you believe in her soul?”

Overwhelmed with guilt, Xi Jin was at a loss for words. “I’m sorry.”

Many times, he felt that she had Dai’er’s aura, but he kept getting confused by some of her behavior. He had also been tricked by the real murderer, Shen Yunya. Therefore, what right did he have to interrogate her like this?
