Chapter 357: Si Mobai’s Seal

Luo Yunzhu was even more shocked than Feng Tianlan. Afraid to lift her eyes, she followed behind the esteemed visitor with heightened caution.

“It’s okay. You may go.”

Luo Yunzhu nodded and scurried away.

“Your Majesty.” Feng Tianlan was surprised by Si Ming’s unexpected visit. It took at least eight to nine days to reach this place from South Peace City, yet he did not look like he had been traveling for days.

“How’s Mobai?” Si Ming asked. He bit his tongue just before referring to Si Mobai as “Young Master.” For the time being, it was best to keep the Young Mistress, Feng Tianlan, in the dark.

“He fell asleep, but I think his condition may be more serious than it appears. I have sent Yunzhu to get the doctor,” Feng Tianlan answered. She was polite, yet not overly subservient. She showed the necessary respect and courtesy due to an elder.

Si Ming walked over to the bedside and looked at Si Mobai. He then glanced back at Feng Tianlan. He was both surprised and unsurprised by her reaction, which was somewhat intriguing.

“There’s no need for a doctor.” Feng Tianlan frowned suspiciously. He followed up by saying, “He’s fine. All he has to do is to sleep it off over the next few days.”

Feng Tianlan was puzzled. “Did you travel thousands of miles over many days just to tell me that he doesn’t need a doctor?”

Si Ming looked like he had not slept a wink while rushing over from the South Peace City. He must have set off in the night. If Si Mobai were actually okay, there would have been no need for Si Ming to rush all the way here so urgently.

Si Ming shook his head and asked, “You should watch from the sidelines. I’ll explain everything to you later.”

Feng Tianlan paused for a second but moved aside anyway.

“Give me some of your blood,” Si Ming said. He extended his outstretched hands to Feng Tianlan and added, “I don’t need a lot, just enough to draw a small talisman.”

Feng Tianlan was doubtful, but she complied anyway. She pricked her finger and gave him a few drops of her blood.

“Now, watch how I draw the talisman. Observe.” Si Ming dabbed his fingers in some of her blood and pressed down on Si Mobai’s forehead, right there, between his lush eyebrows on the red birthmark. It was now so red that it looked like it was going to bleed. Then, Si Ming started drawing.

Feng Tianlan watched and committed the talisman to memory. She’d been born with an excellent memory, so learning a simple drawing like this was a piece of cake. Strangely, it looked like a talisman, but at the same time, it seemed not to be a talisman.

Si Ming watched the birthmark’s redness subside. Only when it returned to its original color and looked once more like a normal Zhusha did he finally heave a sigh of relief.

“The mark of the Zhusha between his eyebrows is a seal that suppresses some of his Spiritual Force. Since the seal was broken by accident, he’s fallen into a coma.”

Feng Tianlan remarked with mild surprise, “When the seal was broken, his Spiritual Force appeared to be stronger than the God Supreme’s.”

Anyone who made the rank of God Supreme could be considered among the most vigorous Spiritual Practitioners on the entire Xuantian Continent. If Si Mobai were indeed more powerful than a God Supreme, he would be invincible on both continents, Guiyuan and Xuantian. Why seal his skills?

“Well, his powers are not the only thing that we have to seal…” Si Ming paused when he saw Feng Tianlan grow even more confused. “I don’t know what Si Mobai has told you, but some things are better explained by him than me. As an outsider, I shouldn’t meddle too much in his matters.”

Feng Tianlan’s pupils widened in disbelief. Did Si Mobai’s father, the emperor, just call himself an outsider?

“If we unseal him now, the risks will be too much to bear. In the best-case scenario, he will just sleep for a few days. And the worst? He might suffer corrosion from the backlash of recklessly breaking the seal. Death is not impossible.”

Feng Tianlan frowned. The night of the attack, Si Mobai had been so powerful that he could have easily laid waste to the entire earth. However, if this power came at the cost of his life, she’d prefer for him not to possess overwhelming Spiritual Force.

Suddenly, Feng Tianlan remembered something. On the night of the attack, Si Mobai had touched the mark between his eyebrows as he’d fallen into deep thought. The thought of unsealing his powers must have crossed his mind even back then.
